Event Details
The Midnight Serenaders
Performing vintage pop, Hot Jazz, and Hawaiian instrumentals, as well as an expanding collection of Jazz Age-sounding original songs, these six veteran musicians strive to share their love for the music of the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s. With an exciting stage show, tight musical arrangements, and outstanding solo and harmony vocals, MIDNIGHT SERENADERS fans include nostalgists, swing dancers, melody junkies, retro-clothing hounds, and folks who simply appreciate good quality, jubilant music.
The Libertine Belles
The Libertine Belles are a female vocal swing trio based in Portland Oregon. Our set lists include vintage jazz music and original songs that conjure up Tin Pan Alley! Their specialty is three part vocal harmonies, plus 6-string tenor ukulele, upright bass, washboard and cornet. Sweet arrangements, haunting harmonies, and sizzling humor… these gals are much more than just easy on the eyes!
Dee Settlemier (the Midnight Serenaders) on Ukulele, Teresa Boyd (the Saloon Ensemble, the Ukuladies) on Washboard, and Carrie Baldwin-Sayre (the Jenny Finn Orchestra) comprise the core of the Belles, and they are proudly backed by Russell Gores (Everything’s Jake) on upright bass, and Jason Wells (the Saloon Ensemble, Trashcan Joe) on cornet. Fairly new on the scene, career highlights include a full length CD, a regular monthly residency at the Secret Society Ballroom, the Oregon Country Fair, the Seattle Folklife Festival, and coming up soon, the Waterfront Blues Festival.
