It’s been a long, lean couple of years, and we at Steep and Thorny are hungry!

Hungry for blood, for brains, for feasting on merriment and flesh. And like Fenris the wolf devouring the sun or the Chinese brother who could drink the sea, we cannot be satisfied.

Featuring performances from Portland’s best underground performance artists and custom concessions designed by The Steep and Thorny Way to Heaven mixologists Myrrh and Megan, The Devouring: A Night Carnival of Hunger is a feast for the senses!

And for those ravenous for more: costumes are encouraged and those who come dressed to devour all we have to offer will get $1 off their first drink.

So sharpen your fangs, find your furs, and come down under the bridge to have your cake and eat it too!

With performances throughout the evening beginning at 8:30pm, the there’s something for every vampire, zombie, and Cookie Monster!

Six times a year, The Steep and Thorny Way to Heaven produces the Night Carnival, a themed costume and cocktail party featuring DJs, dancing, and live performances from Portland’s thriving performance community.

As always, 100% of ticket sales go to performers!

The Steep and Thorny Way to Heaven recognizes that due to historic racism and marginalization, Black and indigenous communities are disproportionately affected by financial insecurity and generational hardship.

COVID Policy: Proof of vaccine or negative test, and masks while not actively drinking will be required for all audience.

Our HEPA air filter will be running at all times indoors cycling all air at least every 15 minutes. All cast and crew will be tested before venue opens.
